Leading Spanish home builder Taylor Wimpey España is certainly familiar with the health benefits of life in Spain, having been building homes on the mainland and the Spanish islands for the past 60 years.
Developers are active again
Taylor Wimpey Espana has six new launches planned just in the first half of 2019.
Although the Spanish property market has been in the process of recovery for some time now, much of its progress has been a case of recovering old ground and, essentially, getting back to normality, rather than fresh growth.
Taylor Wimpey España has been operating in Spain for 60 years now. Providing buyers with a clear, established route to purchase property here is just as important as the properties themselves. People buy holiday homes for a range of reasons, but one thing they all have in common is that they want the transaction to take place quickly and with minimal hassle. Delivering that superb customer experience is part of what has enabled Taylor Wimpey España to thrive in Spain for so many years
Home sales also shot up in 2018 – by 10.1% over the course of the year, according to the latest figures from the INE. With both tourism and the housing market booming, leading Spanish home builder Taylor Wimpey España is racing to meet the demand for holiday homes in hotspots such as the Costa del Sol and Costa Blanca. Together with its operations in Mallorca, the expert builder is launching six schemes in the first half of 2019. It has also just launched two superb new show homes, designed to enable visitors to feel what it would be like to own a second home in Spain.
Homebuilder Taylor Wimpey España has reported a 13.6% uplift in legal completions of its properties in 2018, as the Costa del Sol, Costa Blanca and Mallorca remain prized locations for second home owners. The number of foreigners buying in Spain has also risen, hitting 15% according to Fiabci Spain.

When it comes to holiday homes, the island offers plenty of choice. It is one of three key areas of focus for Taylor Wimpey España in 2019, along with the Costa del Sol and Costa Blanca on the Spanish mainland. Altogether, the company will be launching six new developments during the first six months of the year, including on Mallorca.
Taylor Wimpey Espana said: “When it comes to buying an overseas property in sunny locations such as Spain, Christmas is a good time to buy.
“With fewer tourists around than in the summer months, those purchasing homes can enjoy more attention from local agents. There are also weather-related benefits, with house-hunting trips in the sunshine opening up the possibility of playing golf, eating lunch al fresco and even spending time on the beach.”

Taylor Wimpey is going to continue betting on second homes in Spain. The British property developer is going to launch six new developments in the country during the first half of 2019. The projects will contain 330 homes in total and will be located in three main areas: the Balearic Islands, the Costa del Sol and the Costa Blanca.
Taylor Wimpey España is one of those focusing on Sotogrande – already famous for its hosting of the Ryder Cup and numerous polo tournaments – and its appeal to a new generation of expats.
British buyers have an ongoing love affair with the Costa del Sol.
Taylor Wimpey Spain is selling Horizon Apartments, handsome new-build homes overlooking the golf course at La Cala, from £250,000 for two-bedroom flats and £297,000 for three-bedroom flats.
Southern Europe’s largest golf resort is La Cala, established nearly 30 years ago near Mijas, just 25 minutes from Malaga.
The resort is five miles inland with about 500 houses and plans for another 500 but even when fully built it will only have a maximum density of 12 per cent.
Homes are built in clusters across the hilly resort and share good, established facilities of spa, gyms, indoor and outdoor pools and restaurants, with the golf academy and three courses taking centre stage.
Most owners are keen golfers and a third are full-time residents.
Taylor Wimpey España’s focus is on properties costing between €250,000 and €300,000 (£217,000 and £260,000), which equates to a new two-bedroom apartment in Estepona or Mijas, where land is available to develop. Mijas is a golf and beach destination 20 minutes from Marbella and Malaga.
British love affair with the Costa del Sol is a long-standing one. Main tourist magnets — Marbella, Torremolinos, and Puerto Banús offer a quick fix of sun-soaked escapism easily accessed via dozens of daily flights to Malaga.
The costa continues to draw home-hunters, although Brexit uncertainty has hit the lower end of the market. “Brexit is a big issue for developers,” says Marc Pritchard, the sales and marketing director at Taylor Wimpey España, a developer. “Last year was great for the UK market, but demand has dropped off.”

How developers are trying to put past problems to rest and tempt British buyers again.
A combination of sun, sea, and golf has always drawn Britons to consider Spain’s Costa del Sol as a location to buy an overseas property.

Long, lazy summer days on the beach in Spain have prompted many to think about buying a second home in Iberia. Easily accessible from the UK and enjoying far better weather, Spain is a popular choice for Brits looking to own a slice of the sunshine overseas. Taylor Wimpey España takes into account when looking at where to build their properties. Proximity to golf clubs with spa facilities, restaurants that serve local crowds year-round, playparks and shops are all considered as part of the process. “Buying a holiday home that can be used in every season is about looking at the whole package. Buying somewhere that’s booming in the summer, then spending the Christmas holidays there – and trying to pull together festive feasts from a minimally stocked local store – doesn’t always make for the treasured memories that people are looking for.”

Taylor Wimpey Spain wanted to share a few insights on why Malaga is being flagged as Spain’s most exciting cultural hotspot
Spain’s sixth largest city, Malaga has plenty to offer those who visit. Most who come here are firmly focused on Malaga’s beaches, which are simply beautiful, the area’s spectacular golf courses or it’s abundant nautical and equine pursuits. However, Malaga also has plenty more to offer, with a host of cultural attractions. It seems that visitors are now getting wise to that fact and spending more time taking in some culture in Malaga, as well as working on their tans.
Cultural tourism is on the increase across Spain. According to Weekenddesk, visitor numbers to cultural attractions this summer rose by 23% compared to 2017. Tourists have spent the summer months delighting in the country’s museums, galleries, and theatres. In Malaga, they have particularly enjoyed the Centre for Contemporary Art, Nerja Caves and the Picasso Museum (Andalucia’s most successful gallery).

Leading Spanish home builder Taylor Wimpey España, is offering buyers the chance to purchase a brand new holiday home. With new prices for homes in Alicante, Mallorca and Marbella, the trusted house builder has key-ready properties and a simple purchase process that takes both the worry and the hassle out of buying overseas.
In terms of the local areas in which it builds, Taylor Wimpey España opts for premium sites that enjoy easy access to beaches, golf courses or both. At present, the company is offering brand new, key-ready homes in Mallorca, Marbella and Alicante. “Buying a home in another country can be a daunting prospect, which is why so many buyers opt to buy through an established and well-regarded company. They like the certainty of knowing that they will be buying a high quality home that’s been developed in a popular local area. We work with each of our buyers to ensure that the purchase process is as smooth and efficient as possible – buying a holiday home should be a joyous experience, not a fretful one.”
This tallies with overseas property businesses reporting soaring interest from Britons. “Over the last year we have seen reservations of our Spanish properties by British buyers shoot up by 77 per cent,” Marc Pritchard, of Taylor Wimpey España, said this summer. “In the Costa del Sol we’ve witnessed a 100 per cent increase in reservations. It certainly seems that Brexit has not dampened British buyers’ appetite for holiday homes, at least not in Spain. If anything, the decision to leave the EU has pushed many into hurrying to purchase a home overseas before the UK actually leaves the EU.”
It’s a similar story in France, where inquiries continue to fl ow into the largest Anglo-French estate agency. “We saw an immediate drop in inquiries immediately after the [Brexit] vote in June 2016,” Trevor Leggett, of Leggett Immobilier, said. “However, this didn’t last long and in the subsequent months, it became evident that there was a Brexit backlash taking place. Sales increased and those buying increased their budgets. The figure that has dropped is the number of British homeowners moving back to the UK.” If the prospect of Brexit has fuelled a desire to move, or to buy an overseas property, here are some useful pointers – because nothing about the purchase process has changed – yet. Anyone in receipt of a UK state pension should request an S1 (formerly E121 form) from the overseas healthcare team at the Department for Work and Pensions before leaving the UK.

In this modern era of political and economic uncertainty, maintaining a successful business over the course of several years is something to be celebrated. No wonder, then, that the team behind leading Spanish home builder Taylor Wimpey España were keen to mark their 60th anniversary of delivering superior quality homes across Spain and its islands. On Friday 14 September, the team headed to Ibiza to honour the occasion in true Iberian style.
Demand, however, has remained strong. Home builder Taylor Wimpey Espana reported a rise of 25% in reservations for Mallorca-based property in the year to date, compared to the same period in 2017.
The number of homes completed by Taylor Wimpey España has increased by 91%, amid a thriving property market in Spain.
Taylor Wimpey España’s customer satisfaction rate is currently running at 98%. “This approach has supported the positive results that we have achieved in terms of completions and has positioned Taylor Wimpey España well for the future,”
Taylor Wimpey España confirmed the growing trend, having seen far more UK buyers over the past 12 months. BBVA Bank’s forecast of a 5% property price increase for Spanish real estate underlines the fact that Spanish property is once again a “must-have” for international buyers.
“We’ve seen a sustained increase in British buyers on the Costa del Sol over the past year,” said Taylor Wimpey España.
“The exchange rate has a huge influence over such matters. We’ve also seen a 15% increase in the number of property reservations across mainland Spain and the Balearic Islands as a whole, with reservations now at their highest level for seven years.”
