Magical Mallorca set to charm visitors this autumn

Magical Mallorca set to charm visitors this autumn as the summer crowds recede

From peaceful streets in Palma to beaches with barely anyone on them, Mallorca takes on a magical serenity as autumn unfolds. For second homeowners, it can be the ideal time to enjoy the island’s sunshine and scenery, minus the frenetic buzz of tourists that the school summer holidays bring. Marc Pritchard, Sales and Marketing Director at leading Spanish home builder Taylor Wimpey España and decades-long Mallorca resident, comments:

“There is a wonderful, vibrant energy that arrives with the summer visitors to Mallorca each year. Yet their departure at the end of the season is equally exciting – that is when calm descends over the island once more. It’s the perfect time to enjoy long walks and cycle rides through Mallorca’s idyllic scenery, relax on quiet beaches and linger over lunches as you gaze out to sea.”

Mallorca in the autumn can be truly magical. It can also be much cheaper than visiting in the summer. According to Cheapflights (at the time of writing), the cheapest direct flight from London to Palma is £223 if you fly out on 19th August 2023 for a week. Fly out on 9th September 2023 for a week instead and the price more than halves to £111.

For visitors who aren’t tied to only experiencing Mallorca during school holidays, there is much to enjoy as summer turns to autumn. Holiday Weather reports that the island enjoys an average temperature of 22°C during September, with eight average daily sunshine hours. The average sea temperature in September is a very welcoming 25°C.

Mallorca’s shops and restaurants are blissfully peaceful during autumn, compared with the summer season, so visitors can enjoy everything from souvenir shopping to long lunches and dinners with an air of relaxation. There’s even the chance to pick up a few bargains as stores aim to offload their summer ranges. Mallorca’s bustling local markets also offer plenty to enjoy in autumn, particularly as the island’s bountiful harvest time rolls around.

For visitors keen to enjoy Mallorca throughout the year, autumn provides a great opportunity for viewing second homes on the island at a leisurely pace. The Taylor Wimpey España team provides both digital and in-person viewings of its show homes on the island.

Homes at Taylor Wimpey España’s Compass apartments cost from €310,000 plus VAT for a two-bedroom/two-bathroom property with an open plan kitchen and living space. All homes come with good-sized terraces, while the development has two communal pools for owners to enjoy. The final home for sale in Compass’ second phase is ready to move into and comes complete with kitchen appliances included, while off-plan homes in the third phase have just been launched for sale. Buyers can choose between southeast and southwest orientations, with construction due for completion in September 2024.

Buyers with a slightly higher budget have the option of a home at Senses Cala Anguila, located a little further up Mallorca’s eastern coast than Compass, at Porto Cristo. Just 200m from the sea, the light-filled homes are distributed over two three-storey buildings, with generous terraces and private gardens on the ground floor. Prices start from €410,000 plus VAT, which includes the use of the communal gardens and pool. There is a new show home open for anyone who would like to find out more about the development.

We are excited to welcome visitors to our new show home at Senses Cala Anguila, and share insights into life in this lovely part of Mallorca. From the gorgeous coves at Cala Mandía and Cala Romántica, to the famous Caves of Drach and the equally impressive Caves of Hams, this is a wonderful stretch of coastline to explore.”
