Spanish property: Taylor Wimpey España reports rising demand with penthouses in the spotlight

Average purchase price rose from €383k in 2022 to €400k in 2023
Completions rose from 381 to 410 over same period
Stylish penthouses attracting discerning buyers

Leading Spanish home builder Taylor Wimpey España has reported rising demand for properties in Spain. The firm completed 410 homes in 2023, with a total order book as at 31st December 2023 of 490 homes. That compares to 381 completions and an order book of 448 homes a year earlier.
Buyers also sought more expensive properties in 2023, paying an average of €400,000 – an increase of 4.4% from the average price of €383,000 in 2022. Buyers were primarily Europeans and other international customers purchasing second homes, with a small proportion of purchases being primary homes for domestic Spanish buyers.
“2023 was a positive year for property sales, with an increase in completions and our order book. Buyers continue to prioritise outdoor space and flexible accommodation, which enables them to use their properties to meet a range of needs, from family holidays to extended, blended work and leisure trips. Location is also key and we are excited to have a range of developments launching in the next few months in some impressive settings.”

Taylor Wimpey España offers a range of apartments priced around the average figure of €400,000 paid in 2023. At Solana Village at La Cala Golf Resort in Mijas, Malaga, buyers with a budget in that region can afford a glorious three-bedroom penthouse (penthouse prices start from €420,000 plus VAT). With ample terraces for enjoying the Spanish sun and the panoramic golf views, the penthouses offer space and serenity. In addition to the use of Solana Village’s communal pool and gardens, buyers also enjoy a range of discounts at the nearby La Cala Spa, courtesy of the Privilege Card issued to all property owners at the resort.
