Why you should buy a holiday home in Mallorca
Sales and Marketing Director of leading Spanish homebuilder of Taylor Wimpey España, explains why Mallorca is the ideal location for a holiday home purchase.
What makes Mallorca special?
There really is everything on one island. The scenery is dramatic, varied and stunning, with the Sierra Tramuntana mountain range, a UNESCO heritage site, boasting peaks of up to just under 1500 metres, small calas on the east coast, and large beaches on the north and south coast, making this probably one of the best locations in the Mediterranean for sailing and yachting. Island hopping is easy here, between Menorca, Ibiza and Formentera. Palma has a population of over 400,000, with a rich cultural life, international schools, a good university – the best university for Tourism in Spain and one of the best in Europe – as well as the third largest airport in Spain with connections to all major European airports in only 2 – 3 hours.
Mallorca’s climate is wonderful with over 300 days of sunshine a year, perfect for all kinds of outdoor activities all year round, and the fantastic Mediterranean cuisine is also a major draw! If you so desire, you can totally disconnect but there is also the option to party 24 hours a day, all within a couple of minutes’ drive, plus we hardly have any traffic jams!
