Spain emerges as a prime destination for key ready homes in- Europe
Knight Frank’s European Lifestyle Report 2024 has flagged up Europe as providing “good value compared to other global markets” while highlighting the exceptional value that Spain offers within Europe. Two Spanish destinations – Barcelona and Marbella – ranked among the top four destinations globally for the value of their prime residential prices. Prime property in Barcelona cost from €8,000 to €8,900 per square metre as at Q2 2024, while in Marbella it cost from €8,900 to €9,800.
Leading Spanish home builder Taylor Wimpey España adds to the report’s findings, revealing that second home buyers in Spain aren’t just seeking value but also a swift and easy purchase process. Rapid enjoyment of their new property is also high on many buyers’ priority lists, making key-ready homes a popular choice.
“Whether it’s investors seeking rapid returns, second home buyers wanting to enjoy a holiday as soon as possible or relocators keen to start a new life in Spain, there is strong demand for key-ready homes at present. Many buyers also want expert support to help them navigate the purchase process as swiftly as possible. Our 65+ years of experience selling homes in Spain is invaluable in this respect; it means our buyers can move ahead with their purchase with full confidence.” Sales and Marketing Director, Taylor Wimpey España
Buying a brand new, key-ready home delivers a number of benefits. Newly built homes often appreciate faster, making them a strong investment, while from a design perspective, new homes meet current market preferences. In Spain, that means large terraces, open plan living spaces and flexible areas that can serve a range of needs, from leisure time to working from home, according to the experts at Taylor Wimpey España.
New homes also offer the latest in energy efficiency and build quality. Bella Beach in Denia (Alicante) is a prime example of this. The two-bedroom key-ready apartment, is rated ‘A’ for its energy efficiency. It includes aerothermal heating, double glazing and pre-installation for electric vehicles, along with a beautifully bright and airy interior. The home’s superior energy efficiency means owners can enjoy significant savings on their utility bills. Residents also benefit from sea views, communal gardens and a communal pool, as well as being just 100m from the beach.
Another advantage of buying new is that everything in the home is in perfect condition, from the electrical systems to the plumbing, minimizing the need for additional expenses in the short or medium term. Homebuyers are therefore free to relax and enjoy the property, without worrying about the need for major repairs or renovations, as can be the case with older homes.
This is particularly relevant to buyers keen to maximize their enjoyment of the local area from the outset. At Almazara Hills in Istán in the Costa del Sol, there is so much to enjoy that buyers certainly don’t need the stress or distraction of repairing an ageing property. The stunning Sierra de las Nieves is the perfect spot to get lost in nature, while the bright lights of Marbella and Puerto Banús call to those who enjoy vibrant city life mixed with stunning beachscapes.
Key-ready, three-bedroom penthouses at Almazara Hills are priced from €520,000 plus VAT, while off-plan apartments with two bedrooms start from €360,000 plus VAT. On the slopes of La Concha, close to the Sierra Blanca Country Club resort, the homes enjoy an exceptional natural setting with everything from golf courses to international schools within a 10-minute drive.
“Key-ready homes in Spain meet a wide range of buyer needs and preferences. From beachfront properties at the heart of the action to homes tucked away on the doorstep of incredible natural environments, there are homes to suit every taste. Easy access from airports across the UK adds to the attractions, while Spain’s outstanding road and rail infrastructure also opens up greener forms of travel.” Sales and Marketing Director, Taylor Wimpey España
