Mallorca Continues To Attract Huge Numbers Of Tourists And Second Homeowners

With more flights and more tourists, Mallorca is helping Spain retain its position as a second home hotspot for British buyers.

The largest and most developed Balearic Island, Mallorca is one of Spain’s most popular destinations. This year, it has recorded the greatest increase in tourists of all Spanish regions, enticing low-cost airline easyJet to open a base there.

Laura Richards, of PropertyGuides.com, says: “For homeowners in Mallorca, the prospect of more flights to the island will be hugely welcome. Improved access will just add to the appeal of the island, which really caters for everyone, from the international jet set, boat lovers and the Spanish royal family, to typical British families looking for a friendly beach destination.”

Meanwhile, Marc Pritchard, the Sales and Marketing Director at Taylor Wimpey España, comments: “easyJet’s decision emphasises Mallorca’s presence as a primary destination of choice for international tourists. As demand continues to grow, we are determined to provide an array of high quality properties in locations that reflect the best of Mallorca’s culture, culinary creations and coastline.”

A great example of what’s available to buy on the island today is the Bahia Sant Pere complex – less than an hour from Palma airport, and just a short distance from the local fishing port and Mallorca’s golden coastline. Each two and three-bedroom apartment, priced from €189,000, has two bathrooms, an open-plan kitchen with a breakfast bar and a private parking space. Each resident will also have access to the development’s two swimming pools and communal gardens.
