In Spain, July sales hit pre-pandemic levels

Taylor Wimpey Spain demand

Spanish home builder Taylor Wimpey España has reported a spike in demand from British buyers, with year to date sales for July 2021 now equaling pre-pandemic levels.

“Confidence has been returning to the Spanish second homes market for several months and it’s great to see that British buyers have now regained the appetite that they had for Spanish property before the pandemic.” Sales and Marketing Director of Taylor Wimpey España.

Purchases by British buyers are up by 56% compared to the same period in 2020, when the impact of the pandemic on second home sales was in full swing. Many other nationalities are also showing interest in Spanish second homes in numbers with buyers from 23 countries having bought a home from Taylor Wimpey España this year.

Costa del Sol, in the country’s south, is attracting most interest from British buyers right now.
