High demand and sales: new phases in Costa del Sol
High demand and sales push Taylor Wimpey España to release new phases of popular Costa del Sol developments
Leading Spanish home builder Taylor Wimpey España is releasing new phases of two popular developments in the Costa del Sol, after a string of reservations by British buyers has seen golf properties in the area snapped up.
While buyers of 25 different nationalities have reserved homes with Taylor Wimpey España so far in 2022, nearly 60% of reservations in the Costa del Sol have been by Brits (YTD May). The majority have been for golf properties, with the result that homes at Sun Valley at La Cala Golf are now sold out, while a new phase has just been released at Green Golf in Estepona, Malaga.
The new homes at Green Golf, which enjoy panoramic views over the fairways and down to the sea, are the developer’s third phase at Estepona Golf. A total of 21 properties will be available – all bright, spacious townhouses split across three levels. The three-bedroom properties feature open-plan living spaces and large, south-facing terraces as part of a private, gated community with communal gardens and pools. Solar panels, thermal insulation, soundproofing and natural ventilation systems are included as standard, with buyers also benefitting from discounted services at Estepona Golf. Prices start from €345,000 plus VAT.
Lakeside living is also proving popular with British buyers – hence the release of a new phase of homes at Marbella Lake. Spread across several three-storey, contemporary Mediterranean-style buildings, the two- and three-bedroom apartments, duplexes and elegant penthouses are set around four communal pools, within landscaped gardens in an idyllic lakeside setting. Serenity, birdsong and stunning scenery are the order of the day.
“Demand from British buyers is strong so far this year and it’s still growing – reservations were up 180% in May YTD compared to last year. That’s why we’re investing a further €15 million in these new phases of two of our popular Costa del Sol developments and accelerating the availability of high-quality second homes to buyers from the UK and other nations.”

The appetite for Spanish property is not solely from the UK. Sustained domestic demand and interest from overseas saw property prices rise by 1.1% in May 2022, meaning they now stand some 8.4% higher than a year ago, according to figures from Tinsa.
