MALLORCA’S CELEBRITY CONNECTIONS

MALLORCA’S CELEBRITY CONNECTIONS

Nicole Kidman’s Instagram feed was bursting with stunning pictures of Mallorca earlier this month, as the superstar enjoyed a break in the Balearics. Captioning her pics with “Loving Mallorca” and “Beautiful Mallorca,” Kidman was clearly wowed by the island’s charms. And she is far from the first celebrity to fall in love with this particular corner of paradise…

From celebrity who own homes on the island to those who simply visit whenever they can, Mallorca has attracted an impressive list of famous international afficionados. The island’s fans span the worlds of sport, acting, music, politics and more. Stephen Fry, Kate Moss, Noel Gallagher and Jamie Oliver have all frequented the island, as have Michelle Obama, Catherine Zeta Jones, Michael Douglas, Eva Longoria, Antonio Banderas, Sting, Harrison Ford and more.

As well as its famous international fans, Mallorca is also home to its own celebrity connections. Tennis legend Rafael Nadal was born on Mallorca, as were actor Alex Hernandez and actress Rossy de Palma. In recent years, the island has also produced a new generation of youthful TikTok and YouTube stars, who have between then attracted followers in the tens of millions.

For those looking to enjoy the celebrity lifestyle on Mallorca, these are some of the island’s top attractions.

Mallorca’s capital city of Palma is home to some outstanding restaurants. Marc Fosh, DINS Santi Taura, Zaranda and Adrián Quetglas all boast Michelin stars and are well worth a visit for their exquisite food. Quadrat, La Bodeguilla, Aromata, Stagier Bar and El Txoko de Martín are also must-visit eateries while you’re in the city. Elsewhere on the island, there’s another Michelin star restaurant in Palmanova (Es Fum), while Arrels by Marga Coll (in Ses Illetes), La Fortalez (Cala Blava) and Sa Clastra (Es Capedellà) will all give your tastebuds a treat to remember.

With soft sands, gently lapping waves, outstanding cocktails and superb cuisine, Mallorca’s beach clubs are the ideal way to while away your time on the island. If you’re in Palma, check out Anima Beach Club, just a quick stroll away from the cathedral, or Assaona Beach Club, about five minutes’ walk from the city centre. For a swim and a massage, head to Puro Palma Beach.

Capdepera in northeast Mallorca – home to the beautiful Cala Agulla – is a particularly lovely area of Mallorca and Canyamel is the jewel of Capedpera. In addition to Canyamel Beach, Canyamel Golf and the impressive Artés caves at Cap Vermell, there is the lovely Capdepera town, which is packed with cafés and restaurants. Properties at Canyamel Pins are ideally positioned for making the most of the area, with just one home remaining available for sale, at €650,000 plus VAT.Down on the southwest coast, meanwhile, Es Capdellà is an idyllic village that offers a taste of traditional Mallorca life, close to some of the island’s most prestigious golf clubs and the lively weekend market at Calvià. Spacious three-bedroom homes at The Village in Es Capdellà are available from €790,000 plus VAT. Each property comes with large, southwest- facing terraces and a private garden with a swimming pool.
