All hail Alicante
21TH JULY 2013
Alicante’s El Altet airport saw an 11% increase in the number of passengers passing through it last month, according to Spanish Airports and Air Navigation – nearly 1m people, half of them British, up from 826,248 passengers in May. The property developer Taylor Wimpey de España says this is good news for owners and property-hunters on the Costa Blanca, famed for its miles of golden beaches. Spain as a whole is enjoying higher visitor numbers, with the airport network recording about 17m passengers throughout May – a rise of 1.9% year-on-year.
