Play golf on courses located in attractive tourist destinations, looking out over the Mediterranean Sea, and with spring temperatures and succulent cuisine. This is what the Valencia region offers for golf lovers.
The Valencia region offers the opportunity to enjoy this sport all year round thanks to its privileged climate and nearly 25 golf courses for all levels. It is a very attractive region for tourism with three especially well-known areas: Costa Blanca, Costa Azahar and Costa de Valencia.
Nearness to the big cities
In the Valencia region you will have the advantage of being able to practise your swing very close to the cities. This is the case with Valencia, the capital, Alicante and Castellón de la Plana. The first has up to four clubs within half an hour. They are the El Bosque Golf Club (in Chiva), the Manises Golf Club (in Manises), Foressos Golf (in Picassent), and the El Saler Golf Course (in El Saler).
Very close to the city of Alicante there are four other courses: Alicante Golf (next to the San Juan de Alicante beach), the El Plantío Golf Club (three kilometres towards Elche), the Bonalba Golf Club (in Mutxamel, 10 kilometres away) and the Alenda Golf Club (in Monforte de Cid, 30 minutes away).
Meanwhile, close to Costellón de la Plana you will find the Costa Azahar Golf Club (15 minutes from the city centre) and the Campo del Mediterráneo Club (in Borriol, 15 kilometres from Castellón de la Plana)
In major tourist destinations
Another advantage offered by the Valencia region is the possibility to play golf in destinations full of tourist attractions: beaches, natural surroundings, a wide array of leisure activities, restaurants and accommodations… A good example is Benidorm (in Alicante province), where you can enjoy the Las Rejas Benidorm Western Golf, Villaitana Golf Club and Pith & Putt Sierra Cortina courses. In other close-by tourist destination municipalities, the Don Cayo Golf Club (in Altea, 10 kilometres away) and the Ifach Golf Club (30 kilometres away in Benissa) can be found.
Other tourist destinations with golf courses are Jávea (Jávea Golf Club), Denia (La Sella Golf), Oliva (Oliva Nova Golf Course, 15 kilometres from Gandía) and, above all, Orihuela. In Orihuela and its surroundings there are up to five clubs: Campoamor Royal Golf Club and the Villamartín Golf Course in the same municipality; Golf La Finca (in Algorfa, 15 kilometres from Orihuela); Golf & Country La Marquesa (in Rojales, around 20 Kilometres away); and Lo Romero Golf (in Pilar de Horalada, very close to the tourist destination of Torrevieja).
