Jet2.com, the leading leisure airline with friendly low fares, has today announced a brand new route from Edinburgh Airport to Malaga for summer 2011 – departing twice weekly at great flight times from just GBP 29.99 one way including taxes.
The new service to one of Spain’s top holiday airports, gateway of the Costa del Sol, will be Jet2.com’s 16th route from Edinburgh Airport. Jet2.com flights to Malaga will go on sale today for departures on Wednesdays and Saturdays, starting from 2nd April 2011 – in time for the Easter holidays. Great value package holidays to Malaga can also be booked with Jet2holidays, with prices starting from just £259 for a seven night break, including resort transfers, a generous 22kg luggage allowance and allocated seats, based on two people sharing.
The new route further establishes Jet2.com’s position as Edinburgh’s leading leisure airline, and highlights its commitment to the area following the recent announcement that a record number of passengers flew with the airline from Edinburgh in summer 2010.
Ian Doubtfire, Managing Director of Jet2.com, said: “Malaga is the most requested destination from Edinburgh Airport, so as an airline that is committed to providing our customers with flights to destinations they want to visit, at low fares, we are pleased to have added it to our schedule.
“Our friendly flight times mean that people can make the most of their holiday and hit the beach or golf course on the day they arrive. We are confident that both our Malaga Jet2.com flights and great value package holidays with Jet2holidays will prove a hit with Scottish holidaymakers.”
Kevin Brown, Managing Director, of Edinburgh Airport, said, “We are delighted that Jet2.com will be strengthening Edinburgh’s links with Spain. We are working very hard to increase Scotland’s links across Europe by working closely with our airline partners. We welcome Jet2.com’s expansion of its operation and destinations from Edinburgh.”
Hot weather, beautiful surroundings and long sandy beaches make Malaga the ideal leisure getaway for a romantic break, family holiday or a sporting adventure. Malaga also offers up a bustling city experience, with great shops, bars and a whole host of restaurants that offer the tapas that Malaga is famous for.
