Gigantic Tapas Fest in Palma

There’s an enormous food fest taking place in Palma’s Parc de la Mar recreation area in front of the cathedral on the Balearic Day public holiday on 1st March. Organised by Chefs(in) the association of top chefs from the Balearic Islands, it’s another of their Peccata Minuta events which bring small tapa or pintxo sized portions of expertly made and presented food to emblematic venues.

Chefs(in)’s ethos is to promote the islands as a perfect gastro tourist destination and they will certainly give a welcome boost to any marketing push with the Parc de la Mar event. It will be an enormous affair with equally gargantuan statistics; 25,000 dishes, 11,000 drinks, 15 chefs, 1 cocktailista, and gourmet cafe, artisan beer and three wine bodegas on hand!

Remember, this is tip top cuisine at extremely reasonable prices from some of Mallorca’s best chefs; Marc Fosh, Tomeu Martí, Marta Rosselló, Guillem Sunyer, Joan Marc, Pep Lluis Mayol, Igor Rodríguez, María Salinas, Benet Vicens, Manu Pereira, Koldo Royo, Santi Taura, Marga Coll, Guillermo Méndez and Rafa Martín, so big crowds are expected.

To make life easier ‘food vouchers’ will be on sale in advance to cut down on queues (take a look a the video of the last Peccata Minuta to see how many people went) and make the event a really pleasurable experience -tapas between the cathedral and the sea – for everybody, and vegetarians and celiacs will find plenty to suit them too!

It all starts at 12.00 on Saturday 1st March – Let’s hope the sun shines on everyone. Bon Profit!
