George Benson : Breezin’ into Marbella

The guitar legend and soul sensation comes to Marbella for one night only in June. Fans will be able to see the grammy winning musician up close and personal, under the stars on the tennis club’s center court.

George Benson : Breezin’ into Marbella

Nothing tells you more eloquently that the summer concert season is just around the corner, than when the George Benson billboards start going up all over the Costa del Sol! Performing in Marbella for the third time in as many years, the multi-Grammy award winning jazz guitar legend and R&B, pop and soul vocalist has been wowing audiences for more than 40 years.

“I love Marbella, it’s such a beautiful place with so many great memories for me and I can’t believe that it’s nearly six years since I last performed there,” the triple-platinum artist said. “Time flies I guess.”

The former child prodigy, best known for his 1976 hit album Breezin’, is famous for never having a set list.

“I play it by ear, it all depends on the audience,” the 68-year-old said.

“You gotta give them what they want. Some want to sit and listen, some want to dance but knowing how Marbella loves to party I’ve got a pretty good idea which one it’ll be,” he joked.

Benson was discovered at an early age by jazz great Wes Montgomery and has an eclectic musical style including soul, jazz and R&B.

This soul legend is playing some of his most popular songs live for one night only including “On Broadway”, “Give Me The Night” “Never Give Up On A Good Thing” and many more.

At various points along the four-decade continuum of George Benson’s career, he has been heralded as a jazz guitarist of unparalleled chops, a vocalist with great emotional range and sophistication or a combination of both. However, he regards himself as an entertainer in the broadest sense of the word – a singer of songs, a spinner of tales.

Doors open at the Hotel Puente Romano Tennis Club at 8pm, supporting act 9pm, George Benson 10pm.
