Spain has seen the birth of the first channel dedicated to the world of tapas – Canal Tapas – which can be received on the Internet, via connected mobile devices, satellite, cable, DTT, VOD, and new digital distribution windows.
Canal Tapas promotes a strong and enthusiastic cultural theme and features traditional recipes made with the best Spanish ingredients as well as showing modern twists to tapas. It aims to take viewers on gastronomic tourist routes throughout Spain.
Joaquín Torres Ruibérriz, Global CEO, explained that Canal Tapas aims to be a window into Spain and to promote Spanish tourism food products. It seeks to establish new business models and seek agreements to generate content production that are economically and creatively sustainable. “Our efforts will be to achieve leadership and excellence through a channel with attractive content, which is original, entertaining, interesting, innovative, amazing quality and strengthens links with viewers,” he said.
