Mark White and his wife Lindsey, who are from the UK, decided to buy in Mallorca after holidaying on the island and discovering its ease of access from home, the good weather and long beaches. The couple now own a two-bedroom apartment of Taylor Wimpey in a small development in the resort of Puerto Pollensa, on the north-east coast.
“We fell in love with the resort” says White. “It’s not crowded or overdeveloped, it has an amazing beach, great restaurants and a friendly atmosphere. It was everything we were looking for.”
The Whites expect to spend several weeks a year in their second home, but think they may rent it out during the summer, when they would make the most money out of it. “Mallorca is a lovely island, but there are some resorts where there has been more development than others,” White cautions. “So do your research and pick your place carefully.”

Our purchase is an apartment with sea views at the Taylor Wimpey Cala Magrana development situated near the Caves of Drach just outside Porto Cristo in the province of Manacor on the North Eastern side of the Island of Mallorca.
Our main priorities as a family prior to purchasing were to have a new build property, a good quality of build with good after sales facilities, well thought out designs, good quality specification, good surroundings with well-kept gardens, communal swimming pools plus easy access to Palma Airport with a travel time within one hour. All this we found at the Cala Magrana Development.
Most important out in Mallorca is the terrace area ours having a fantastic view of the Mediterranean sea and with the climate so good out there we dine alfresco most evenings when visiting. We cook the fresh local produce fish, shellfish, tender meats and regularly sample the great Mallorcan wines of the area. Not only have we purchased our home in the sun for a good quality of life but also have a great investment for the future too. We can confidently say that we are happy and have made a beautiful home from home on the Island of Mallorca.
