As the world\u2019s population swells, so too do its number of tourists \u2013 in particular to Spain. At current rates of growth, total visitors to Spain \u2013 reported to have already reached over 36 million from January to June this year \u2013 will be close to twice its population in the coming years.<\/p>\n

Take the Spanish island of Mallorca. Whether it\u2019s the Love Island<\/em> effect or simply the countless charms of this Mediterranean jewel but this summer, its popularity has reached dizzier heights with British arrivals up 17.6% (Jan \u2013 May 2017 vs the same period in 2016) reports the Tourism Board.<\/p>\n

With an economy so reliant on tourism, this is indeed positive news however with visitor numbers swelling, some are concerned over its sustainability.<\/p>\n
