Demonstrating its continued growth and expansion at Budapest Airport, Wizz Air began its 34th service earlier, with the launch of its seasonal weekly flights to Alicante.<\/p>\n

Basing its eighth aircraft at the airport makes it possible for the home-based airline to offer another popular summer route.<\/p>\n

The launch further consolidates Spain\u2019s position as the eighth largest country market served from Budapest, with 29 weekly scheduled operations offering a total of 5,301 weekly seats.<\/p>\n

Alicante, the traditional Mediterranean port, becomes Wizz Air\u2019s fifth Spanish destination from the Hungarian gateway joining Malaga, Barcelona, Madrid and
\nPalma de Mallorca, with a total of 20 weekly operations.<\/p>\n

Offering over two thirds of Budapest\u2019s Spanish weekly operations, Wizz Air now fills 68 per cent of all scheduled seats to Spain.<\/p>\n

Kam Jandu, chief operating officer, Budapest Airport commented: \u201cThe new Wizz Air service to Alicante fills a real customer demand and whilst the south-east region of Spain has always been well travelled destination for Northern Europe, given a lack of flight connections in the past, it is not a traditional holiday market for Hungary, so we\u2019re excited to see how it performs.<\/p>\n
