{"id":6346,"date":"2014-05-02T14:09:20","date_gmt":"2014-05-02T14:09:20","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/taylorwimpeyspain.com\/blog\/?p=6346"},"modified":"2014-05-02T14:09:20","modified_gmt":"2014-05-02T14:09:20","slug":"5-6-million-malaga-tourists-expected","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/taylorwimpeyspain.com\/blog\/5-6-million-malaga-tourists-expected\/","title":{"rendered":"5.6 million Malaga tourists expected"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Some 5.6 million visitors are expected on the Costa del Sol this summer, according to the President of the Tourism Board, Elias Bendodo.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/taylorwimpeyspain.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/05\/malaga_comp_new_2822872b.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/taylorwimpeyspain.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/05\/malaga_comp_new_2822872b.jpg\" alt=\"\" title=\"\" width=\"620\" height=\"387\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-6347\" srcset=\"https:\/\/taylorwimpeyspain.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/05\/malaga_comp_new_2822872b.jpg 620w, https:\/\/taylorwimpeyspain.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/05\/malaga_comp_new_2822872b-300x187.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 620px) 100vw, 620px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Eight per cent more tourists are expected between June and September this year compared to 2013, while overnight stays are expected to increase by 9%.<\/p>\n<p>Bendodo said that more tourists are expected from abroad, especially the UK, Germany, France and Scandinavia, but also from within Spain.<\/p>\n<p>Airlines have increased their available places on flights connecting with Malaga-Costa del Sol Airport by 5% to 11.5 million.<\/p>\n<p>The Tourism Board, Bendodo said, will also put more effort than ever into promoting the Costa del Sol as an all-year tourist destination to attract more people out of season.<\/p>\n<p>There will also be campaigns to promote the many attractions of the area, apart from its weather and beaches, such as leisure, culture and gastronomy.<\/p>\n<p>He said that inland tourism is already on the rise and that this must continue. <\/p>\n<!-- AddThis Advanced Settings generic via filter on the_content --><!-- AddThis Share Buttons generic via filter on the_content -->","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Some 5.6 million visitors are expected on the Costa del Sol this summer, according to the President of the Tourism Board, Elias Bendodo.
