Whilst Mallorca has not escaped this decrease in Spanish visitors, the growing numbers of international tourists has helped to balance this.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.seemallorca.com\/events\/news\/mallorca-tourism-in-2013-to-be-as-good-as-2012.html\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/taylorwimpeyspain.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/01\/es_trenc_beach_parasols-e1359624349831.jpg\" alt=\"Northern Europeans continue to choose Mallorca for their holidays\" title=\"Northern Europeans continue to choose Mallorca for their holidays\" width=\"530\" height=\"311\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-5145\" srcset=\"https:\/\/taylorwimpeyspain.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/01\/es_trenc_beach_parasols-e1359624349831.jpg 530w, https:\/\/taylorwimpeyspain.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/01\/es_trenc_beach_parasols-e1359624349831-300x176.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 530px) 100vw, 530px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>The popularity of Mallorca, Menorca, Ibiza and Formentera with the British and German markets and the growing Scandanavian and Russian markets are helping the islands avoid the dire ecomonic situation the rest of Spain are facing.<\/p>\n<p>Last year, 10.4 million foreign tourists came to the Balearics and spent around \u20ac10,900 million, which is a rise of 5.9% over 2011 figures. The average spend by a tourist showed a small increase at \u20ac967.<\/p>\n<p>The Minister of Industry, Energy and Tourism, Jose Manuel Soria is predicting the 2013 summer season to be as good as that of 2012, if not better should the Spanish market recover later this year.<\/p>\n<p>This year the summer season is expected to get busy from May right through until early October.
