Firstly on account of the broad array of courses on offer. All along the coast there are challenges and fun for all, whether you are a beginner or an expert. There are courses that host major tournaments and many have also been designed by famous golf stars. The wonderful Mediterranean climate means you can play almost any day of the year \u2013 another advantage. Add to this the host of additional leisure options available: theme parks, monuments, spa resorts, gastronomy, countryside, shopping\u2026 and, of course, beaches. Your travelling companions will be thrilled.<\/p>\n<p>The list could continue, with the area\u2019s great communications, excellent hotel infrastructure and the variety of settings, but you are sure to want to know exactly what awaits you.<\/p>\n<h2>The Balearic Islands<\/h2>\n<p>The <strong>archipelago<\/strong> has more than 20 golf courses between <strong>Majorca<\/strong>, <strong>Minorca<\/strong> and <strong>Ibiza<\/strong>. The majority of them are in Majorca. However, there is no problem getting from one island to another \u2013 there are scheduled sea and air services between them. Here, not only will you enjoy the golf, but also the countryside: for example, the <strong>Sierra de Tramuntana Mountains<\/strong>, the <strong>Cabrera National Park<\/strong> and <strong>Minorca<\/strong>, a UNESCO Biosphere Reserve. Do you prefer art? Then you will be more than satisfied with the cultural programme and museums to be found in <strong>Palma de Mallorca<\/strong>, with the historic centre of <strong>Eivissa<\/strong>, which has the <strong>World Heritage<\/strong> designation, and with the important <strong>megalithic monuments<\/strong> to be found around the archipelago. You can play your favourite sport while you enjoy all the flavour of the Mediterranean in renowned tourist destinations such as <strong>Altea<\/strong>, <strong>Benidorm<\/strong>, <strong>D\u00e9nia<\/strong>, <strong>Orihuela<\/strong>, <strong>J\u00e1vea<\/strong>, <strong>Gand\u00eda<\/strong>, <strong>Elche<\/strong> and <strong>Borriol<\/strong>, a town which hosts a PGA European Tour event each year. If you are travelling as a family, then you are in luck because there are so many <strong>options<\/strong> for children: from the <strong>Arts and Sciences Centre<\/strong>, through to the <strong>Terra M\u00edtica<\/strong> Theme Park and the new <strong>Bioparc<\/strong> Zoo. Not to be missed either are the cultural routes in the city of <strong>Valencia<\/strong> and the wonderful <strong>Elche Palm Grove<\/strong>, which features on the UNESCO World Heritage list.<\/p>\n<h2>Andalusia<\/h2>\n<p>In the south, furthermore, there is the Mediterranean coast of <strong>Andalusia<\/strong>. In the provinces of <strong>Almer\u00eda<\/strong> and <strong>Granada<\/strong> you will find courses practically right on the beach, such as those in <strong>Moj\u00e1car<\/strong>, <strong>Roquetas de Mar<\/strong> and <strong>Motril<\/strong>. Nevertheless, the top golfing area is <strong>Malaga province<\/strong>, the real \u201cCosta del Golf\u201d, with more than 40 courses at your disposal. Here there are famous names such as <strong>Marbella<\/strong> and <strong>Estepona<\/strong>; you will also find several clubs in towns like <strong>Mijas<\/strong>, <strong>Benalm\u00e1dena<\/strong> and <strong>Casares<\/strong>. Special mention should be made of the San Roque area, on the Mediterranean coast of <strong>Cadiz province<\/strong>, where there are highly prestigious courses such as <strong>Real Club de Sotogrande<\/strong> and <strong>Valderrama<\/strong>, setting for the Ryder Cup.<\/p>\n<p>So now you know \u2013 boredom is out of the question if you choose Spain\u2019s Mediterranean coast.
