Mallorca has been described as the ‘perfect’ destination for a family holiday.<\/strong><\/p>\n

According to travel journalist and author Anna Nicholas, who regularly contributes to the Telegraph and has written several books, one of the island’s most appealing features is its wealth of attractions.<\/p>\n

For holidaymakers looking for relaxation there are numerous beaches to choose from, as well as nature parks and restaurants.<\/p>\n

Palma is home to an aquarium that is highly popular with families, while the Soller train and tram service and historic houses such as La Granja also provide memorable experiences for young and old alike.<\/p>\n

‘There are simply so many attractions, both in the towns and in the rural areas \u2026 [enough] to fill at least several weeks of holidaying,’ Ms Nicholas commented.<\/p>\n

People planning to catch flights to Palma de Mallorca for a break this year will also have the option of exploring some of the island’s rural areas, such as the Soller valley and the Tramuntana mountains.<\/p>\n

3. Natural Beauty- Cap de Formentor<\/strong>
\nCap de Formentor is the most northerly point on the island of Majorca, what lies in wait is a peninsula of wild landscape. Visitors enjoy breath taking views of cliffs, rock formations and sandy beaches. The drive there shares much legend as well, with winding roads that offer great scenery and a few heart in mouth moments as the sea is a mighty 400 metres below.<\/p>\n

2. Discover Palma Aquarium<\/strong>
\nPalma Aquarium situated in the capital of the island is a family favourite, with amazing exhibits of sea life and family entertainment with shows. It is recommended that you witness the feeding of the animals, with tanks over 30 ft deep this is a stand out experience. Top of the bill has to be the \u2018big blue shark tank\u2019, a massive tank holding creatures of the deep. Just don\u2019t watch Jaws before you go.<\/p>\n

1. Western Water Park<\/strong>
\nThe Western Water Park is an attraction that is sure to raise smiles when visiting Majorca. For the thrill riders, or those who like to chill out the Western Water Park is a must visit. The park follows a Western theme, with a mass of slides, wave pools, dinghy\u2019s and themed pools the kids will be more than entertained. At the top of the list is the beast slide, a 30 metre vertical drop separates the men from the boys. Younger children can enjoy the themed mini park with smaller slides and the occasional water bucket. Lastly get the whole family on the mega slide, huge inflatable rafts slide down a 260 metre slide. Just make sure you hold on.<\/p>\n
