{"id":2770,"date":"2011-04-04T12:32:02","date_gmt":"2011-04-04T10:32:02","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/taylorwimpeyspain.com\/?p=1275"},"modified":"2017-02-23T15:16:55","modified_gmt":"2017-02-23T15:16:55","slug":"five-square-meters-wins-top-prize-at-malaga-film-festival","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/taylorwimpeyspain.com\/blog\/five-square-meters-wins-top-prize-at-malaga-film-festival\/","title":{"rendered":"&#8216;Five Square Meters&#8217; Wins Top Prize at Malaga Film Festival"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Max Lemcke\u2019s real estate drama\u00a0Cinco Metros Cuadrados walked away with the top prize at Malaga\u2019s 14th Spanish Film Festival Saturday, earning the gold Biznaga for best film.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><strong><br \/>\n<\/strong>The official jury, led by director Vicente Aranda, also gave the film the best actor nod for Fernando Tejero, best supporting actor for Jorge Bosch and the 6,000 euro-best screenplay \u2014 the only cash prize \u2014 to Pablo and Daniel Remon.<\/p>\n<p>Tejero, a regular in Spanish comic productions, received good reviews for his unusual drama outing which focuses on a young couple caught by an unscrupulous builder at the collapse of the real estate market.<\/p>\n<p>Tom Fernandez took the directing award for What\u2019s a bear for? which also saw Geraldine Chaplin take home the supporting actress award, while Begona Maestre won the lead actress honor for her part in Arriya.<\/p>\n<p>After a fairly lethargic festival, which saw various high-profile no-shows, the festival\u2019s local fans finally got to shout their enthusiasm and star gaze Saturday as stars arrived for the closing ceremony.<\/p>\n<span class=\"embed-youtube\" style=\"text-align:center; display: block;\"><iframe loading=\"lazy\" class=\"youtube-player\" width=\"900\" height=\"507\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/L76MVzEPVCw?version=3&#038;rel=1&#038;showsearch=0&#038;showinfo=1&#038;iv_load_policy=1&#038;fs=1&#038;hl=en-US&#038;autohide=2&#038;wmode=transparent\" allowfullscreen=\"true\" style=\"border:0;\" sandbox=\"allow-scripts allow-same-origin allow-popups allow-presentation allow-popups-to-escape-sandbox\"><\/iframe><\/span>\n<p>The festival closed on Saturday night in an event to be attended by hometown hero Antonio Banderas, current heartthrob Miguel Angel Silvestre and Culture Minister Angeles Gonzalez-Sinde, among others.<\/p>\n<!-- AddThis Advanced Settings generic via filter on the_content --><!-- AddThis Share Buttons generic via filter on the_content -->","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Max Lemcke\u2019s real estate drama\u00a0Cinco Metros Cuadrados walked away with the top prize at Malaga\u2019s 14th Spanish Film Festival Saturday, earning the gold Biznaga for best film.
