{"id":210,"date":"2010-09-01T19:44:16","date_gmt":"2010-09-01T17:44:16","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/taylorwimpeyspain.com\/?p=210"},"modified":"2017-02-22T15:24:48","modified_gmt":"2017-02-22T15:24:48","slug":"high-flyers","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/taylorwimpeyspain.com\/blog\/high-flyers\/","title":{"rendered":"High flyers"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>FOUR months after King Juan Carlos inaugurated Malaga Aiport\u2019s terminal 3, and in spite of\u00a0 ash clouds and the recession, hundreds of thousands of passengers are using the airport every week.\u00a0Over half a million passengers used Malaga\u00a0Airport\u00a0in July alone; an 11.8 per cent increase on the last year.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">\n<p>Second only to Palma de Mallorca,\u00a0Malaga\u00a0Airport\u00a0was the second most used in\u00a0Spain\u00a0by low-cost airlines during the month of July.\u00a0In the whole of\u00a0Spain, low cost airlines accounted for four million passengers, 10 per cent more than in 2009.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">\n<p>While 2.85 million passengers, three per cent more than last year, chose traditional airlines.<\/p>\n<span class=\"embed-youtube\" style=\"text-align:center; display: block;\"><iframe loading=\"lazy\" class=\"youtube-player\" width=\"900\" height=\"507\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/IzoLENdHrO8?version=3&#038;rel=1&#038;showsearch=0&#038;showinfo=1&#038;iv_load_policy=1&#038;fs=1&#038;hl=en-US&#038;autohide=2&#038;wmode=transparent\" allowfullscreen=\"true\" style=\"border:0;\" sandbox=\"allow-scripts allow-same-origin allow-popups allow-presentation allow-popups-to-escape-sandbox\"><\/iframe><\/span>\n<p>For Salvador Pendon, President of the Malaga Provincial Government, the results suggest that tourists attracted to various different market sectors are visiting the\u00a0Costa del Sol, \u201cwe are interested in diversifying the tourism market so as not to rely solely on a few sectors.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><strong>This week the Junta de Andalucia announced an investment of more than \u20ac334m for Sustainable Tourism.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">\n<p>But this will not only benefit traditional coastal resorts with \u20ac184.4m being set aside for 31 projects aimed to improve the offer for tourists in inland and emerging coastal destinations.<\/p>\n<p>The aim is to create or improve hotels, restore and embellish historical and monumental heritage, create complementary activities, improve accessibility and signposting, and train and advice personnel and small businesses.<\/p>\n<!-- AddThis Advanced Settings generic via filter on the_content --><!-- AddThis Share Buttons generic via filter on the_content -->","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>FOUR months after King Juan Carlos inaugurated Malaga Aiport\u2019s terminal 3, and in spite of\u00a0 ash clouds and the recession, hundreds of thousands of passengers are using the airport every week.\u00a0Over half a million passengers used Malaga\u00a0Airport\u00a0in July alone; an 11.8 per cent increase on the last year.
