The land of sun, sea, sand and sangria continues to reign supreme as the most popular holiday destination with 29.05% of bookings, according to The Co-operative Travel survey with Greece in second place at 9.94%, Turkey at 8% and the USA at 5.99%.<\/p>\n<p>A long favoured holiday destination amongst many European holiday makers, Spain received 9 million international tourists between January and March this year; an increase of 2.9% over the same three month period last yearaccording to research from The Ministry of Industry, Tourism and Trade.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><a href=\"http:\/\/taylorwimpeyspain.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/05\/compressed-4.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-1550\" title=\"Mighty Spain reigns supreme as the most popular holiday destination with 29.05% of bookings according to the latest research 2\" src=\"http:\/\/taylorwimpeyspain.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/05\/compressed-4.jpg\" alt=\"Mighty Spain reigns supreme as the most popular holiday destination with 29.05% of bookings according to the latest research 2\" width=\"530\" height=\"397\" srcset=\"https:\/\/taylorwimpeyspain.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/05\/compressed-4.jpg 1417w, https:\/\/taylorwimpeyspain.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/05\/compressed-4-300x225.jpg 300w, https:\/\/taylorwimpeyspain.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/05\/compressed-4-1024x768.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/taylorwimpeyspain.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/05\/compressed-4-399x300.jpg 399w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 530px) 100vw, 530px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>One Spanish destination that has seen noticeable improvement in visitor numbers is Benidorm on the sun drenched coast line of the <a href=\"http:\/\/taylorwimpeyspain.com\/en\/property-in-spain\/costa-blanca\/12.htm\" target=\"_blank\">Costa Blanca<\/a> where hotels have reported a recovery in the British holiday market.
