Universities across the world are planning an unprecedented recruitment drive in the UK this week as a record number of students fail to find places in this country. As many as 170,000 British applicants could be disappointed as they face the double whammy of a 12% rise in applications this year and a reduced number of places on offer.<\/p>\n
