From peaceful streets in Palma to beaches with barely anyone on them, Mallorca takes on a magical serenity as autumn unfolds. For second home owners, it can be the ideal time to enjoy the island\u2019s sunshine and scenery, minus the frenetic buzz of tourists that the school summer holidays bring.

Mallorca in the autumn can be truly magical. It can also be much cheaper than visiting in the summer. According to Cheapflights (at the time of writing), the cheapest direct flight from London to Palma is \u00a3223 if you fly out on 19th<\/sup> August 2023 for a week. Fly out on 9th<\/sup> September 2023 for a week instead and the price more than halves to \u00a3111.

For visitors who aren\u2019t tied to only experiencing Mallorca during school holidays, there is much to enjoy as summer turns to autumn. Holiday Weather reports that the island enjoys an average temperature of 22\u00b0C during September, with eight average daily sunshine hours. The average sea temperature in September is a very welcoming 25\u00b0C. 

Mallorca\u2019s shops and restaurants are blissfully peaceful during autumn, compared with the summer season, so visitors can enjoy everything from souvenir shopping to long lunches and dinners with an air of relaxation. There\u2019s even the chance to pick up a few bargains as stores aim to offload their summer ranges. Mallorca\u2019s bustling local markets also offer plenty to enjoy in autumn, particularly as the island\u2019s bountiful harvest time rolls around.

Autumn also means skipping the summer queues for activities across the island. Whether you fancy a spot of dolphin watching, trying your hand at sailing or whizzing around Palma on a Segway, there\u2019s plenty of fun to be had, minus the waiting in line.

For visitors keen to enjoy Mallorca throughout the year, autumn provides a great opportunity for viewing second homes on the island at a leisurely pace. The Taylor Wimpey Espa\u00f1a team provides both digital and in-person viewings of its show homes on the island.

Homes at Taylor Wimpey Espa\u00f1a\u2019s Compass<\/a> apartments cost from \u20ac310,000 plus VAT for a two-bedroom\/two-bathroom property with open plan kitchen and living space. Just 200m from the sea, the light-filled homes are distributed over two three-storey buildings, with generous terraces and private gardens on the ground floor. Prices start from \u20ac410,000 plus VAT, which includes use of the communal gardens and pool. There is a new show home open for anyone who would like to find out more about the development.
