The just released ONS migration data reveals that some 323,000 individuals emigrated from the UK in the year to September 2016, an increase of 8.75% over the previous 12 months.
Brits accounted for 40% (128,000) of those emigrants, with the key reason for their departure being work-related reasons (50%).
January’s ONS figures have also revealed that Spain is the country that hosts the largest number of British citizens living in the EU, with some 308,805 settled there.

Of those, 32.7% (101,045) are aged 65 or older.
