New 2026 flight routes make Spanish seaside sunshine more accessible than ever

Taylor Wimpey España showcases sun-kissed second homes by the sea

A string of new flight routes and service expansions are making seaside sunshine more easily accessible during spring and summer 2026, benefitting holidaymakers and second home owners booking travel to Spain.

The new services span both city destinations and coastal resorts, with several already in operations. BA City Flyer, for example, launched a new service from London City to Madrid in December 2025, while Ryanair added a route from London Stansted to Murcia in November. EasyJet launched a seasonal service from Edinburgh to Málaga in October, with new 2025/26 winter connections also including Liverpool to Almería, Manchester to Madrid and Edinburgh and Leeds Bradford to Barcelona.

For travellers looking ahead to spring and summer, it is often Spain’s sunny coastal areas that provide some much-needed relief from the cold, rain and general greyness of the UK. With this in mind, Wizz Air will be launching new connections from March 2026 from London Luton to Barcelona, Bilbao and Valencia, as well as to Madrid and Seville. Jet2 also has new operations planned, including from Manchester to La Palma in April, London Stansted to Jerez in May and Stansted to La Palma in October. For travellers in Scotland, Ba City Flyer will be launching flights from Glasgow to San Sebastián for summer 2026.
New routes and additional services deliver extensive choice for travellers in 2026

The huge choice of new services provides outstanding convenience for holidaymakers, including those who already own or are considering buying a second home in Spain. At this time of year, according to Marc Pritchard, who has served as Sales and Marketing Director at leading Spanish home builder Taylor Wimpey España for the past 14 years, it is homes by the sea that attract particularly keen interest from buyers in the UK and other Northern European countries. He explains:

“There’s nothing like continually grey skies to emphasise the appeal of owning a property by the sea in Spain. Blue skies and sunshine can deliver a marvellous boost to spirits, while the outdoor lifestyle that comes with living somewhere warm by the sea delivers both physical and mental wellbeing benefits.”

Taylor Wimpey España offers a range of properties by the sea, with the affordability of the Costa Blanca making it one of the areas most favoured by buyers from the UK and Northern Europe. Over the past year, buyers from Spain, Poland, the Netherlands, the UK and Sweden have topped the list of those snapping up properties there.

One development proving particularly popular is Eden Beach, which offers a selection of apartments just 700m from the stunning La Mata beach, priced from €285,000 plus VAT. The southeast-facing homes provide generously sized terraces with magnificent views of the Mediterranean Sea.

Along the coast in San Pedro de Alcantara (Marbella), homes at Mare are just a four-minute walk from the picturesque seafront promenade. The local area is home to wide, modern avenues with cycling lanes, gardens, restaurants and stores – perfect for having everything close to hand for serene and seamless stays. Prices at Mare start from €645,000 plus VAT for a two-bedroom apartment.

Spanish coastal resorts are providing much-needed spring sunshine

For buyers seeking an island getaway, homes at Es Voltor in Mallorca combine easy access to golden beaches with a stunning setting in the foothills of the Tramuntana Mountains. Around a 15-minute drive from the coast, the boutique collection of townhouses (priced from €795,000 plus VAT) feature open plan living/dining areas that open onto large south-west facing terraces and private gardens.

A-rated for their energy efficiency, homes at all three of the above-mentioned developments keep running costs to a minimum. They also come with communal pools and prettily landscaped communal gardens.
