Taylor Wimpey España recently launched its new luxury development on the Costa del Sol in a move that signals the return of happier times in the premium Spanish property market.
La Floresta de la Mairena, set in a stunning location in the hills above the town, is the first new development to break ground in Marbella for over three years and reflects Taylor Wimpey’s growing confidence in the demand for premium property throughout Spain. The development represents an €8.5million investment for Taylor Wimpey España and has been triggered by the company’s success in selling over 80% of its stock in the Costa del Sol in 2009.
The very special appeal of La Floresta de la Mairena lies in its location and specifically in the views that the location affords. Situated in the La Mairena hills above Marbella and surrounded by a strikingly beautiful oak forest, the view from La Floresta provides one of the most striking panoramas in the Mediterranean.
To further add to appeal, most of the land surrounding the development has been designated a natural biosphere reserve by UNESCO ensuring that the stunning views will remain permanently unobstructed.
Designed in the quintessential Mediterranean village style, the development will consist of just 23 luxury homes in two white adobe style apartment blocks surrounded by a choice of swimming pools, landscaped communal gardens and discreet external parking. Every home has a large terrace with magnificent views across the oak forest to the sea and ground floor apartments have their own private garden.
The 2 bedroom apartments measure 116 m² whilst the 3 bedroom luxury penthouse provides an impressive 246 m² of living and entertaining space. The homes will be built to the highest standard with first-class finishes including an Italian designed integrated kitchen with Silestone worktops, thermal and acoustic insulation and air-conditioning.
La Floresta also incorporates the use of renewable energy and new super efficient insulation systems that contribute to the development’s environmental sustainability. The apartments are scheduled to be completed by autumn 2011.
Each owner at La Floresta de la Mairena will have access to the nine-hole El Soto Golf Course, which also has a gym, sauna and a clubhouse with a restaurant whilst five minutes’ drive takes you to both the famous 36-hole La Cala course and the challenging but less well known 18-hole Doña María.
Victor Sague, Sales and Marketing Director of Taylor Wimpey Espana is confident of significant interest in La Floresta from the UK market:
“The last six months has shown us that as demand for the best properties in the best locations continues to rise whilst the existing stock of such properties gets smaller and smaller, prices will inevitably continue to rise. We sold 52 units in Marbella last year and today there are almost no premium homes available in the town.
Anyone who visits La Floresta and experiences the ambience and the breathtaking views cannot fail to see that this will be one of the most sought after locations in the whole of the Costa del Sol. Marbella continues to hold a very special attraction to the British holidaymaker and with La Floresta being only seven kilometres from the town centre and the beaches and offering golf on the doorstep – I am confident we have the perfect package.”
